The Waft Emitter is a Miscellaneous utility. It is used to provoke instant Factional Raids.
The amount of resources dropped by creatures participating in Factional Raids is reduced.
How to Use
Once opened, the Waft Emitter UI will show the player's inventory. Suitable bug parts will be highlighted. Selecting a bug part will display the faction it will enrage and its potency (1-4). Confirming the selection will add it to the "Waft Pile" panel. Each bug part in the Waft Pile increases a bar representing the number of Creatures from that faction that will appear during the raid. Any combination of bug parts can be used.
The Waft Emitter can be triggered anywhere except for in the Haze, unless the canister has been sealed. It also won't work if the area is physically unreachable by land creatures.
Raid Mechanics
Inputted Items
Inputting each item gives the player a "rage" value. The total value of rage will determine what Creatures will spawn during the attack, with each creature having a spawn value (covered below) that requires a certain amount of rage to spawn. More valuable parts give more points, while less valuable parts give less points. Mixing parts will lead to multiple different rage values or each faction (ex: mixing Termite Parts and Red Ant Parts will lead to different points for the Termite and Red Ant factions and will drain only when a member of their faction spawns).
Raid Mechanics
Each creature in a raid has a specific rage cost that drains the total amount of rage that the player has accumulated via depositing creature parts into the Waft Emitter. Each creature, when spawned in, will drain the rage total by their rage cost. Creatures in raids will attempt to spawn in a rather equal amount, though larger creatures will attempt to spawn in less amounts than fodder (ex: Termite Kings will spawn less often than Termite Workers). Once a creatures cost is higher than the remaining rage total, they will be unable to spawn. If the remaining rage is too low to spawn anymore creatures, it is wasted and the raid will end. The total rage will also be wasted if the raid is failed early or if the raid ends due to too many creatures getting stuck.
The Raw Science reward given at the end of the raid is directly tied to the total amount of creatures killed during a raid. Each creature has a specific Raw Science amount that is added to the total of Raw Science the player gets at the end of the raid. If a raid is failed or ended early due to creatures getting stuck, the player will get the Raw Science for the creatures they kill and none for the creatures they didn't.
The player can do various things to maximize their Raw Science rewards. Firstly, the player needs to make sure the total rage count in a raid will not have an remainders. For example, in a Bee raid, if the rage is not divisible by 4, than that will leave a remainder of total rage that will not be used for spawning creatures, thus not giving any Raw Science. Secondly, the player should focus on spawning medium to small raids, as larger raids will commonly end early due to creatures getting stuck or the raid lasting too long. This leads to much of the rage cost simply not being used, and as such the resources used to spawn the raid that were not used are entirely wasted without any reward. Finally, the player should target raids that give suitable amounts of Raw Science and not smaller amounts. Examples of raids that give good amounts of Raw Science are Black Widows, Ominent, Termites, and Wolf Spiders. Most other raids either have fairly underwhelming rewards or parts that are very difficult to get.

Trivia
- Infected raids can spawn a Infected Wolf Spider at a rage cost of 100. However, this cost value is impossible to reach, meaning Infected Wolf Spiders cannot spawn naturally in infected raids.
- Sickly Roly Poly Parts and Shells can be inputted into the Waft Emitter, despite them both being unobtainable.
- Both parts give rage points of 2 each.
- The Waft Emitter is crafted with Ladybug parts, despite being visually made of Ladybird parts.
