Czechia (officially the Czech Republic, historically called Bohemia) is a landlocked country in Europe, previously part of Czechoslovakia, and a member of the European Union. Its capital is Prague and the country is bordered by Austria, Germany, Poland, and Slovakia. Czechia officially uses PEGI as a video game rating system, but it has no official legislative basis.

Most video game companies are based in Prague or Brno, the biggest ones (over 100 employees) are Bohemia Interactive, SCS Software, Warhorse Studios and 2K Czech. However, the most profitable company is Beat Games with Beat Saber. The capital hosts annual Game Developers Session (GDS), which is the oldest Central European conference dedicated to games development, game technologies, business and marketing.
