Gail

“Please spare me! Wait, that's useless... No choice... I'm going to chop your head off!!”
—Gail's battle quote

Gail is the Pirate boss in Chapter 4 of Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem and its remake. He is stationed to guarding the castle located on the east side of the map.

Profile

Searching for the village where Wendell resides, Marth's army marches towards the area only to find out that Gail and his men had taken control of it. The two forces engage in combat and Gail is ultimately slain.

Gail wields a Silver Axe so any weak or untrained units will be vulnerable to him. He drops a Bullion worth 5,000 gold once defeated.

Personality

Owing to the minor role Gail serves in the story's plot, his personality is greatly unknown. However, several aspects from his few lines can determine his character. Gail is depicted as cowardly, willing to take extreme measures ensure his survival when the situation turns against him, as he practically pleads for the Altean army to spare him when engaged in battle. Despite his chance to reason with them, he believes it's rather useless and proceeds to resolve the matter with violence instead, which ultimate results in his lost. When defeated in battle, it is unknown if he was actually killed or he retreated as his final words depicts no hints of him drawing his final breath.

Trivia

  • Like most Pirate and Thief bosses, Gail uses a variation of Gazzak's portrait in the original Mystery of the Emblem. In the remake, he is given a new portrait and appears much fatter than he did in the original.
