The Haunted Mansion
The wraiths are one of the spirits encountered in the Ballroom scene where they are seen floating across the room via window while ghostly couples dance within the area. They are seen via projection effects to give the illusion to guests as if there are ghosts inside the mansion.
Other appearances
The Haunted Mansion (2003)
The wraiths appear during the climax of the film when Jim Evers tries to stop the wedding between his wife Sara and Master Gracey. When it was found out that the truth that Ramsley actually murdered Elizabeth, his treachery against his master and his blackmailing the other residents of the Mansion was revealed, a group of wraiths fly through the window to attack the Evers and attempt to kill them when Ramsley berates them, as phantoms threaten to kill them. However, the wraiths suddenly disappear when a mysterious draconic creature drags Ramsley to a fiery pit, as the dragon is shown to have driven away the evil spirits.
Trivia
- The wraiths featured in the Haunted Mansion attraction resemble the evil spirits from the Fantasia segment, Night on Bald Mountain, which in turn made Imagineers to have inspired the attraction.
- The specters that also appeared in the graveyard scene may have also been inspired by the spirits from said segment.
