This article is about the re-branded building. For the original headquarters for the Avengers, see Avengers Tower.
The Watchtower (formerly Avengers Tower and Stark Tower) is a re-designed version of Tony Stark's tower, now owned by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. It will first appear in Thunderbolts*.
Background
In 2015[1], Tony Stark sold the Avengers Tower when he decided to move the Avengers headquarters to the New Avengers Facility. Over the years, no one knew exactly who had now owned the building as the years went by, until it was later revealed that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine had brought the headquarters and renamed it to The Watchtower.
Appearances
Spider-Man: Far From Home
The new furbished building is seen being built when Spider-Man swings by times square in 2024.
Thunderbolts*
For the first time in years, by 2027, the Watchtower is featured in the film, where it is revealed that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine now owns the headquarters and invites the Thunderbolts to the tower. Valentina recruits the team and uses the tower as the headquarters for the Thunderbolts.
Trivia
- It was never revealed who owned the building after Tony Stark sold it in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It wasn't until the trailer for Thunderbolts* that it was revealed it was named The Watchtower and now owned by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
