After Stitch escapes from his containment room on the Federation Ship and makes his way off the ship through the ventilation system, he hijacks the Red One and is enjoying his flight in it. During his trip, the fleet escorting the federation ship attacked the Red One. Stitch flies back toward them, attempting to shoot them, but ends up losing its gun and has the Red One severely damaged in the process. Despite the severe damage, Stitch is able to activate the Red One's hyperdrive to make a huge jump through space and successfully escapes. However, as the damage the fleet caused to the Red One had disabled its navigation system, he was no longer able to control it throughout space and a few hours later, the Red One came out of hyperspace and crashed on Earth in Kauai, Hawaii. Stitch survived the crash, but the Red One blew up on impact. Lilo and her sister Nani have a brief power outage and see the Red One with a bright green glow around it fall from the sky and crash-land near their house. Lilo assumes it was a meteor and gets very excited to make a wish on it.
In "Bonnie & Clyde", despite the Red One's obliteration, Jumba was able to rebuild it, much to Stitch's delight. Lilo and Stitch then used the Red One to capture Bonnie and Clyde.
The Red One's design appeared to vary in all of its appearances: in the original film, it was red with a vertical white stripe; in the TV series, it was red with a horizontal white stripe; and in Stitch!, it had a more triangular design.
Trivia
It can be assumed that the red police cruisers are used by elite officers, whereas the blue police cruisers are used by lower ranking officers; hence, they are used for pursuit and patrol. For instance, in Stitch's Great Escape!, it is flown by Lieutenant Sledge.
The Red One appears in Disney Magic Kingdoms as a small statue in the game's Tomorrowland area (called the "Space Mountain Zone" in the game), along with a statue based on Gantu's ship. Both statues have been in place long before Lilo & Stitch was officially added to the game.
