"Night Mutants" is the first segment of the thirteenth episode of the Disney Channel animated series StuGo.
Synopsis
MIDNIGHT MUTINY! Larry wants to see what the island’s nightlife has to offer.
Plot
Every night before bed, Larry plays his cello in rhythm so that his friends can brush, floss, and apply skincare to their faces. He slowly begins to feel the monotony of his duties and offers that, for once, they try to break from their schedule. The other kids scold him for this, especially when Merian tells him that nighttime is exactly the same as daytime. Despite this, he decides to stay up late to see if there is any difference. He hears a noise and heads outside where he meets the owl mutant Zora, and her small opossum companion Svetlana. Zora despises daytime and suggests that he join them on their nightly routine, which Larry excitedly accepts.
Larry learns that nightlife is fun as he eats bugs, has techno parties in caves and spray paints with Zora and Svetlana. He admits that he concerned for his friends as they might miss him, convincing Zora to leave a non-mutated raccoon named Jean-Michel to replace Larry. In the morning, the other kids believe that Larry has transformed into a raccoon and take Jean-Michel to see Dr. Lullah so that she can reintegrate his old memories into him, much to Jean-Michel's confusion. Soon after, Larry slowly begins to feel the monotony of nightlife as well. Whenever he tries to deviate, Zora scolds him for it and continues to spit at the sun.
Larry admits that he has learned his lesson and wants to return to his old life, but Zora refuses, mainly because besides Svetlana, she doesn't have any friends. A chase ensues and Larry rushes back to the living quarters where he finds a shaved and wigged Jean-Michel and asks for his life back. Jean-Michel happily returns to Zora, who thinks that she captured Larry, and Larry resumes his duties. The kids, believing that Dr. Lullah's experiment worked, are happy to see that Larry is "back to normal". When they see that he is 90% human, they decide to take him back for one more acid bath, which Larry happily, and ignorantly, agrees to.
