Description | |
I will be able to restore my health by eating wood. |
Appetite is a passive skill that gives the Protagonist the ability to restore health by eating Wood Logs or Boards. The usage of it can be tricky (see below).
Each Wood Log restores around 50 Health Points, each Board restores about 17 Health Points, at the same rate, around 3.4 HP/s.
To eat wood in PC version (other versions should be similar):
- Open inventory
- Bring your cursor over Wood Logs or Boards
- Hold Left Mouse Button until the cursors changes to Use
- Release the button
Strategy
While exploring in the open, the fights encountered would likely not be fatal but likely cause some injury, bringing a few Boards for healing after such fight can be helpful.
Out of habit, many may not like to use healing items for fear of the overflowing Healing may be wasted. Boards are both affordable and sustainable (hideout vendors sell them) and each board heals only for a small portion. The skill provides a way to heal to almost full health and stay so without using much resources and worrying about wasting the Healing. Thus this can be a great skill for players who do not like to waste consumables on light injuries.
Accounting for the cost of fuel for sawing, it is less costly to eat Wood Logs rather than Boards to heal for the same amount.
Due to its unusual method of consumption, it cannot be used in the hotbar thus it is impractical to use it in a combat.
Trivia
- This skill is named as Panda in the game files.
- Savages also have the ability to eat wood.
- This skill is likely a reference to certain Polish culture of eating certain wood in real life.
