Nine is the ninth Original, and has the ability to control fire. He is the Original who interacted with Atlas the most when they were children, saving him from becoming cold and detached, and his first (and only) friend. Though, after the death of Vesta, Nine had his memories wiped by Atlas, losing his ability in the process. But, eventually, after seeing a wounded Atlas, he regained his powers alongside his memory. He is currently on a mission to stop Atlas's self-destructive behavior involving the Cure.
Appearance
Nine has a distinguishing scar on his left cheek, left there by accident from Atlas after Nine killed Vesta. Along with the other Originals, Nine has white hair and yellow eyes. He typically wears bright-colored hoodies.
Personality
Nine is determined and empathetic, with a firm belief that everyone deserves a chance to repent. He's reckless, often rushing into issues headfirst without a solid plan. Despite his thick-headedness, he functions on a genuine kindness which draws in many people and gives him a natural charisma to those around him. He often blames himself for the people he has killed, however is devoted to repenting for his mistakes and living with what he has done.
Nine has a minimal tolerance for cowardice and those who run from their problems, especially since he constantly faces his own head on. He oftentimes acts on his emotions, and believes in the intrinsic goodness of others and their ability to grow as people no matter their former misgivings.
History
Ability
Nine has the ability to control fire, but with his memories sealed, he forgot how to use his powers. He regains the ability to use his powers in Episode 60. His powers are powerful with raw power, however he struggles to control them and has a very limited range, with most of his attacks coming directly from his body. [1] This puts him at a disadvantage when battling horrors with a larger range. As mentioned by Iantis, the horrors with the fire power cannot use earpieces, due to their ability burning them inside-out.[2]
