Cure

The Cure Project is a project first started by Vesta. The project consisted of four scientists - Vesta, Orion, Hades, and Nora. Vesta first designed the Cure for the horrors so that it would make them normal humans again when it was used, so that when the war was over they could live normal lives. However, the cure would only work if Atlas was sacrificed. Atlas volunteered to give himself up to protect his siblings, but Hades opposed the use of the Cure. After he became the project lead, Hades attempted to destroy the Cure, but Nora protected it by attaching it to Atlas' body so that if it were removed, he would die. Hades wouldn't kill Atlas, so the Cure still exists, unused, to this day.
