Yoko Nakagawa (中川 容子 Nakagawa Yōko) is a minor supporting character who appears only in the anime adaptation of Cardcaptor Sakura. She attends the same high school as Touya Kinomoto and Yukito Tsukishiro ^[1].

Appearance

Yoko appears as a tall, slender, and slightly tanned teenaged girl. She has short red-brown hair that falls around her face. The back flips up near the shoulders. She has red-brown eyes.

Plot

In Episode 14 of the anime, Yoko is a schoolmate of Touya and Yukito, having a crush on the former. She is also mentioned to be the captain of the drama club. During their school's performance of Cinderella, Yoko is cast as the Prince opposite Touya, who has been cast as the titular character. During the play, the Mist card dissolves the set, nearly sending her and Touya plummeting downward.

After the Mist's capture, Yoko confesses her feelings to Touya, although it is clear to her that Touya doesn't reciprocate her feelings, which she tearfully accepts. Touya then shares a dance at the bonfire with her as a favor.

Etymology

• Her given name Yoko (容子) means "circumstances" or "appearance" or "indication."
• Her surname Nakagawa (中川) means "middle" (中) (naka) and "river, stream" (川) (kawa/gawa).
