~ Bloons TD 6 tutorial text |

Powers (also referred to as Monkey Powers or Powerups) are a game mechanic in Bloons TD 6. They are consumable items that can be deployed in a game to activate various beneficial effects. They can be purchased with Monkey Money or obtained as a reward through other means. Insta-Monkeys are also classified as Powers.
Powers are the successors to the Special Agents from Bloons TD 5, with some of them returning in this game as Powers. Unlike Special Agents, which offer both offensive and supportive towers, Powers are mostly limited to supportive, supplementary, or quality-of-life effects.
Overview
Powers can be used during a game by opening the Powers tab, then dragging their icons onto the map, much like any tower. Every Power requires the player to drag its icon onto some position on the map, even if its effect does not take its position into account. They have no cooldown or limit on the number of times they can be used per game.
Powers are not usable in CHIMPS, Race events, or ranked Boss Bloon events. Powers can also be disabled in challenges.
In Odyssey Mode, the player must select the types of Powers and uses of each type to bring with them. By default, the player is limited to 8 types of Powers and 20 uses of Powers. With exception of Battle Cat, which has no limit per type, each Power has a limit per type.
Insta-Monkeys
- Main article: Insta-Monkey
Insta-Monkeys can be accessed within a game by opening the Powers tab, then scrolling down. Unlike standard Powers, Insta-Monkeys cannot be purchased with Monkey Money.
Insta-Monkeys of a certain tower type can only be used if that tower type is not restricted in the current game mode. Insta-Monkeys also count as a tower being used in challenges where towers have a limit on the number of times they can be used; this includes Odyssey Mode.

Relics
- Main article: Relic Knowledge
In Contested Territory, Powers cannot be used from the player's inventory. Instead, there are eight different Relics that can be equipped to grant a limited number of uses of certain Powers in a game. These Relics can be obtained from both the Relic Store and Relic Tiles, and it is possible to have two copies of the same Relic this way. If both copies of one of these Relics are equipped at the same time, then the number of uses of its corresponding Power is doubled.
Time Stop, Cash Drop, Banana Farmer, Pontoon, Portable Lake, and Energizing Totem do not have corresponding Relics, rendering them unusable in Contested Territory. Insta-Monkeys are also unusable in this event.
Power Skins
Power Skins can be purchased from the Trophy Store to alter the appearance, animations, and sound effects of various Powers. If a Power has multiple skins, only one may be selected at a time.

“ | While working on the new Battle Cat power we concluded a number of existing powers that haven’t had love since launch are no longer living up to a worthy level of power in the modern state of Bloons, so we’ve made modifications to some of these to make them more useful for the cost. In particular, we felt like there were very few times to ever use MOAB Mines over Super Monkey Storms so these have been given a considerably more powerful single target use case to use in situations in which Super Monkey Storm would normally struggle. | ” |

Trivia
- According to Ninja Kiwi, as of October 2020, the Cash Drop is the most used Power in the game by far, while the Energizing Totem is the least used Power.[1]
- "Power Pros" were teased in the patch notes for Version 15.0 as a feature to be introduced later in 2020.[2] This feature has yet to be added as of 2024.
- Presumably, Power Pros would have served as the successor to the Special Agent Pros from Bloons TD 5.
