The DT–57 Medved, also known as the DT–57 or Medved, or "Bear", was a double–barreled shotgun manufactured by the Hyperdyne Corporation and used by the Union of Progressive Peoples, the Three World Empire, the United Americas, and the United States Colonial Marine Corps.
Development
The DT–57 Medved was designed by Sophia Tamarkina, an exiled Weyland-Yutani Corporation mechanical engineer. She later designed weapons for the Hyperdyne Corporation, with the proviso that the weapon schematics be provided free for all Union militias indefinitely.[1]

Notable users
The original Medved model was created in 2157 for the Union of Progressive Peoples' colonial militias. After 2184, Hyperdyne provided copies of the DT–57 free to all colonial militias, and sold them directly to the UPP's Space Operating Forces. Additionally, Hyperdyne sold the Medved through subsidiaries to private military contractors, corporate security forces, United Americas national services, the Three World Empire's Royal Marines Commandos, and the United States Colonial Marine Corps.[1]
Behind the scenes
The DT–57 Medved appears in Aliens: Fireteam Elite and can be purchased from Staff Sergeant Han-jae Park for 4800 Requisition Points. It can be equipped by Gunner, Technician, Phalanx, Recon and Lancer classes.[1]
