Kallika was a young woman who left the Northern Water Tribe to pave her own path, after rejecting the traditional role of a healer that was forced on her.[1][2]
History
Kallika was born into a wealthy family in the Northern Water Tribe. As she was a waterbender, she was expected to become a healer due to her place in society. However, Kallika refused to settle in the role being forced upon her.
Every time Kallika's teachers tried to shove her into the role of a peaceful, caring woman, Kallika shoved back three times harder. Eventually, she understood that her family would never understand who she truly was, and what she wanted. She ended up running away from the tribe, and started making her choices, which started to bring her a sense of joy for the first time.
Eventually, she made her way to the Fire Nation colonies. She helped to quell a riot in Machi when the Harmony Restoration Movement fell apart, and met Ginkgo, Ziyi, Toklo, and Chihiro in the process. The five companions were subsequently given a special dispensation by the regional governor to help towns adjust to the fallout of colonization. Kallika soon grew close to Chihiro, and wanted to help her break free of her Fire Nation family's past.
The group later came to Linsho during the Squid Ink Festival. While in town, they watched a conflict break out between the town's Fire Nation Loyalists and Earth Kingdom Restorationists, with each blaming the other for a fire at a Blue Skies Fisheries warehouse. Mayor Leaf tasked the companions with finding the arsonist as quick as possible, while also keeping people safe, as a storm was brewing.[2]
Personality
Kallika was a loud and determined person, and was willing to push back against the confining gender roles in the Northern Water Tribe. After leaving the tribe and starting to making her own choices, a sense of joy was unlocked within herself.[2]
Abilities
Kallika often uses her bending to fashion weapons out of ice.[2]
