Chihiro was the child of two of the worst Fire Nation offenders of the Hundred Year War. She strove to make amends for her family's wrongdoings, helping communities to adjust to the fallout of the Harmony Restoration Movement.[2]
History
Chihiro's parents willingly and gleefully participated in some of the worst offenses of the Hundred Year War.[1] After carrying out various atrocities, they became wealthy, and were gifted a swath of land in the Earth Kingdom.[2]
When the war ended, the first thing Chihiro did was to quietly slip her parents some sleeping herbs, tie them up, and wait for Earth Kingdom guards to come get them. She subsequently began travelling the lands, seeking to make amends for her family's wrongdoings.[2]
While in the Earth Kingdom town of Machi, Chihiro helped quell a riot when the Harmony Restoration Movement fell apart in 101 AG. In the process, she met Kallika, Ginkgo, Ziyi, and Toklo. As a result of their role in ending the local crisis, the five companions were given a special dispensation by the regional governor to help towns adjust to the fallout of the decolonization process.[1] Kallika subsequently grew close to Chihiro, and wanted to help her break free of her family's past.[3]
The group later came to Linsho during the Squid Ink Festival, seeking an arsonist who had been involved in several violent incidents in the region. While in town, they watched a conflict break out between the town's Fire Nation Loyalists and Earth Kingdom Restorationists, with each blaming the other for a fire at a Blue Skies Fisheries warehouse. Mayor Leaf tasked the companions with finding the arsonist as quick as possible, while also keeping people safe, as a storm was brewing.[1][4]
Personality
Chihiro had a casual demeanor, but could also be intense. She carried a sense of shame for what her parents did during the war, and wished to spend her entire life making up for it.[2]
Abilities
Chihiro was talented at using her firebending skills to obscure smoke.[2]
