Ice Cat (Kristal)

Ice Cat is a support tower that uses her magic staff to freeze and slow zombies around her temporarily. She can freeze large bosses like the Large Void but only freeze them with lower duration starting from level 3(excluding the Massive Void). She belongs to the Hybrid Tribe.

At level 4, she gains the ability to apply brittle to any enemy that's frozen, making them take more damage from all sources. This effect is enhanced further at level 6, making them take larger damage from all sources.

This tower does not have hidden detection at any level.

Mastery Perks

Colder Freeze: Ice Cat gains +1 pierce. Price: 1

Brittling Ice: Level 5 Ice Cat makes affected enemies deal +3 damage from other attacks. Price: 4

Statistics

• Level 1 - Faster Freeze: Freezes faster, and increases pierce.
• Level 2 - Longer Freeze: Freezes enemies for longer, and increases range.
• Level 3 - Big Ice: Ice Cat can freeze Larger Voids, but only 20% as effective as normal.
• Level 4 - Cryo Brittle: Affected enemies take extra damage from all attacks
• Level 5 - Super Frost: Pierce and attack speed increased, and freezes Larger Voids for longer. A blizzard in the blink of an eye!
• Level 6 - Nekokami of Frost: Brittle becomes deadlier with every freeze. I mean fweeze.

Tactics

• Even though Ice Cat does not have the best damage, she is decent at holding back enemies due to her slow and freeze.
• Unlike other towers, Ice Cat does not have hidden detection at any level.
  • Beacon can grant Ice Cat hidden detection at level 3, but it is not ideal for early game.
• It's recommended to place her next to other towers.
• Ice Cat is best paired with rapid firing towers like Gunner or Technician due to the additive bonus damage on frozen enemy.

Trivia

• Ice Cat was designed by Billie, one of the main developers of ArenaTD.
  • This is the reason that she took longer to release.
• Ice Cat is one of the ATD characters to have an official art as one of the thumbnails.
  • The art resembles the level 6 of her.
  • The other characters are: Pyro, Magician, Evil Theresa & Theresa (both are in the same picture) and Amethyst Void Lord.
    • There are much more but the rest can only be seen through Google and other places.
• If Ice Cat is placed in Black Blizzard (accessed through Archive), she can be seen fallen asleep.
• During the Winter Event 2022, Ice Cat healed enemies rather than damaging them due to her form of attack, making it a blunder to bring her into battle.
