Ore Deposits are Objects in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Location and Uses
Hyrule Compendium Entry
Ore Deposits can be found all around Hyrule. They can be broken by hitting them with a Weapon or by blowing them up with a Remote Bomb. Hammer-type Weapons take less hits to break Ore Deposits than other Weapons do. Whether broken or not, hitting them with a non-wooden weapon or an arrow generates sparks that can start fires. When they break, they will drop Gems, Rock Salt, and Flint.[2] Though they're capable of dropping Ambers, Opals, Topazes, Rubies, Sapphires, and Diamonds, the less valuable of these Gems will drop more often.
When Ore Deposits are destroyed, they will be permanently gone until a Blood Moon. After one occurs, all Ore Deposits that have been looted will reappear.
Ore Deposits appear on the back of Stone Taluses, Frost Taluses, and Igneo Taluses, serving as their weak spots.[3] Attacking these deposits will high amounts of damage to Taluses. In addition, hitting them will cause Taluses to fall over.
