Flint

Flints are recurring Items in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3]

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Flint can be found after breaking Ore Deposits, Luminous Stone Deposits, and Rare Ore Deposits. Striking pieces of Flint with metal Weapons cause the former to ignite.[1] This can be used to create Campfires by dropping a piece near some Wood before striking it.[1] It can be used to relight Campfires as well, including those under Cooking Pots. The Kochi Dye Shop also accepts Flint as an ingredient for Black Dye.

The Champions' Weapons, if broken, can be reforged by special craftsmen, with Flint as a requirement.

Flints are required to upgrade the following pieces of Armor at a Great Fairy Fountain.

Tears of the Kingdom

Flint can be obtained in the same way as in Breath of the Wild. However, it is now revealed (via the side quest Cash In On Ripened Flint) that there is a delicacy known as ripened flint that is indistinguishable from normal flint, until Gomo the Goron gourmand eats it.
