Nabi

Aoi Nabi (蒼彩なび) (birthday: May 24) is a South Korean VTuber. Originally known for being an illustrator of several other VTubers, she became a VTuber herself in 2021.

Content

Nabi created her channel on May 2, 2021, and her debut livestream garnered her over 120K subscribers. It opened with an animation of her, and she would chat with her viewers, getting to know them.

Her debut stream revealed that she likes streaming, listening to music, looking at illustrations, cute things, Netflix and Shabu-Shabu. She likes food, but hates coffee, bugs, Shiitake mushrooms and greasy food. Her favorite shows and movies are Harry Potter, Whisper to the Heart, Your Name, UNNATURAL, The Queen's Gambit, Sherlock and Crash Landing on You. She is a huge fan of anime, and her favorites are NANA, Kimi ni Tokode, Eromanga Sensei, Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia, Drowning Love, Candy Candy, Hunter x Hunter, K-On!, Steins;Gate and Haikyu!!.

Her first game stream was of Passpartout^[1]. She also streams herself learning English and Japanese through Duolingo^[2][3]. On October 19, 2021, she uploaded her first cooking livestream^[4]. She has covered songs such as Jellyfish - Yunomi and hosts karaoke streams. She also hosts drawing streams.

After her debut, she had around 25 videos, which have since been deleted and archived (or possibly privatized) for unknown reasons. As of current she covers songs and showcases her artistic talents and gaming skills with the occasional cooking stream.

Second channel

Her second channel is for uploading highlights of her Twitch streams.

Collaborations

She was already well-known in the VTuber community as the artist of Amelia Watson, Amatsuka Uto, Alice Mana, Kogane Himukai and Rena Shiratori. A lot of her fans are fans of aforementioned VTubers. Prior to her debut, she was good friends with Amashiro Natsuki, the character designer of Gura, and even drew her while playing Passpartout.^[5] On September 17, Nabi hosted a Garctic Phone collaboration with fellow character designers of Hololive VTubers, Nachoneko, Ayamy, Iida Pochi, Kakage and Nana Kagura.^[6]

She often draws in her streams, sometimes involving fellow artists including Kakage, Ina'nis and Mel^[7][8]. Nabi ships Ina'nis and Ame, however later she abandoned the ship and tried to marry Ina'nis herself.^[9][10] She has also played Mario Party Superstars with Anya Melfissa. She has also played Clubhouse 51 games with Rena Shiratori.

Her cover of Sislove - Honeyworks featured Alice Mana^[11]. She has covered マーシャル - マキシマイザー with Uto and Say So - Doja Cat (Japanese version) with Amelia^[12][13].

Kiara has held a Korean-language learning stream with Nabi^[14].

Design

She is her own character designer. However, her modeler is QQUACK.^[15]

Her name was chosen as "Aoi" is derived from the Japanese word 青い which means blue, and blue is her favorite color. Her first name "Nabi" is derived from the Korean word 나비 which means butterfly. Combined, her name means Blue Butterfly.
