Tanner (born: November 3, 1999),[1] better known online as BigT (also known as TanningOil), is an American YouTuber and Twitch streamer known for his comedic gaming videos.
He is also part of The Group, along with isaacwhy, Softwilly, LarryCroft, and Grunk. Since 2022, he has co-hosted their podcast The Group Chat and resided in Austin, Texas, with the other members.
Content
Tanner is active on Twitch, and in recent months has become active on YouTube as well. His YouTube content mainly consists of gaming videos, many of which revolve around horror games. His videos sometimes feature his friends, such as the other members of The Group.
History
Tanner's channel was created on September 21, 2016. He met isaacwhy, Softwilly, and LarryCroft in early 2020 during the run of the SMPEarth server in Minecraft. They became friends, and would record videos together as part of (some of) their channels. Tanner didn't upload anything at first.
Tanner would become popular through the content uploaded on his friends' channels. He uploaded his first video to his channel on February 26, 2022. His channel would then quickly start to gain traction. He reached 100,000 subscribers in June 2022.
He began to make content on YouTube more frequently in early 2023, starting to upload more consistently in March.
Personal life
Tanner grew up in the state of Washington. In the summer of 2022, he moved to Austin, Texas, with isaacwhy, Softwilly and Larry,[2] who were followed by Yumi later that year.[3]
