Hidabat (Japanese: ヒキコウモリ Hikikōmori) is a Rank D Wind-attribute Yo-kai of the Shady tribe introduced in Yo-kai Watch.

In Yo-kai Watch 4, he is part of the Onnen tribe.

In Yo-kai Watch and Yo-kai Watch 2, Hidabat evolves into Abodabat when fused with Tengloom, in Yo-kai Watch 2, can evolves into Allnyta when fused with Wydeawake, and as of Yo-kai Watch Blasters, can evolve into Abodabat when fused with the Comfy Closet.

Hidabat is a bat yokai with sky blue eyes. his fur is dark except for a yellow gold collar. He has blue wings with golden-yellow hash symbols on them. his wings are actually supported on its arms, and his arms move with them thanks to a band on its palms.

Hidabat likes to be in dark and secluded places and is usually seen on a laptop. Hidabat is very shy.

Those who are possessed by Hidabat become gloomy and have a strange need to seclude themselves in the dark.

Hidabat appears in the Abandoned Tunnel east past the Rank C Watch Lock on Mount Wildwood.

Hidabat appears in the Abandoned Tunnel west, on Hooligan Road in the Yo-kai World and under 5000m in the Infinite Tunnel.

Yo-kai Watch 3

Hidabat appears in the Abandoned Tunnel West.

He can also be found in Blasters T in the Gale and Whirlwind Labyrinths.

He is required for the Horrorsmith Yo-kai Circle.

Yo-kai Watch 4

Hidabat is automatically befriended during Chapter 1. He can also be found in Ark Doors in Uptown Springdale and Blossom Heights. He can be freed from the present Crank-a-kai with a Five-Star Coin, One-Star Coin or Y Coin as a third prize. He can also be found in the Gutsy Bones and Goldy Bones battles in Enma Tournament - Oni Arena as well as in the Hyakki-hime (Shadowside) and Orcanos missions in PuraPura Blasters.

Yo-kai Watch Blasters

Hidabat is one of the Bottom-of-the-barrel blasters available to the player at the beginning of the game thus is automatically befriended. He can also be found on Patrol Missions in Harrisville.

Hidabat is required for the Indoorsmen Yo-kai Circle.

Hidabat can be found in the Zircon Labyrinth and the Tamesōdo-ryoku Hidden Room ①.

He is required for the High Tech A Team Yo-kai Circle.

Etymology

  • "Hidabat" is a portmanteau of hide (or hideout) and bat. It could also be a play on "hide a bat".
  • "Hikikōmori" is a pun on hikikomori (Japanese: ひきこもり "shut-in, recluse"), which is a staying-in lifestyle, and kōmori (Japanese: 蝙蝠 "bat").
  • "Encielago" It is a combination of the words encierro ("closure") with murcielago ("bat").
  • "Fledalein" combines "Fledermaus" (bat) with a cute suffix ("-lein"), as well as "allein" (alone).
