Panacea Reid (Japanese: パナセア, Panasea) is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed.

Overview

Panacea is a soldier for the Liberators, who dutifully serves under the command of Shulk, whom she holds in high esteem and respectfully addresses as 'Teacher' (師匠, shishō). Her unwavering resolve and genuine character reveal her honesty and absence of ulterior motives. Panacea's profound admiration for Shulk is evident in her steadfast loyalty towards him and unwavering commitment to fulfilling his orders.

She would later become the founder of House Reid when the City was rebuilt, with Shania being one of her descendants.

Appearance

Panacea is a tan skinned woman with short black hair tied into small pigtails. Her eyes have a dark moderate red shade to them and she has a mole or beauty mark on the left side underneath her lips. She is biologically of Homs origin.

Similar to Linka, Panacea wears a standard outfit that is seen worn by other female soldiers affiliated with the Liberators. Minor differences in Panacea's are primarily in the outfits color scheme. Her outerwear is a reddish brown short-sleeved open jacket with a circular opening on the rear. Underneath, she has a mostly black form-fitting garment with an open front design that narrows towards the bottom and closes just below the navel. She also wears a white cropped top underneath, white micro-shorts, black gauntlet gloves, a black belt, and black over-the-knee boots with a pouch strapped to her right leg.

Panacea's Blade is a standard large spear that is a common weapon among other Liberators.

Story

Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed

Panacea originally lived in the world of the Bionis. At some point after Z used Origin to create Aionios, Panacea joined the Liberators and became Shulk's disciple. Panacea was among the few people who were not assimilated by Origin.

While on the Aurora Shelf, Panacea discovers and subdues Glimmer, and is about to finish her when she notices that Glimmer's Iris lacks a Flame Clock. Shulk then arrives to assess the situation and has Glimmer come with his group to their nearby camp. Glimmer answers some questions about her current situation, before going to the tent prepared for her. Later, during the party's fight against Moebius W. Panacea backs up Shulk when he, Rex, and Matthew attack W and his Ferronis simultaneously, destroying the Moebius. The next day, the Liberators take Matthew, A, Nikol, and Glimmer with them to Colony 9. Once there, Panacea shows them around the colony. The next day, the party is informed of a distress signal coming from Raguel Lake on The Ragmos Desolation, which they go to investigate.

After the party's encounter with Na'el and Alpha at Raguel Lake, Rex and Shulk explain to Nikol, Glimmer, and Matthew about the history of their original worlds and how Aionios came into being. The next morning, Panacea goes with the party as they leave for the Black Mountains, where Prison Island is located, in order to get to Origin.

Sometime after Alpha is vanquished and the reconstruction of the City begins, Panacea, along with Glimmer, Nikol, Riku, Linka, and Na'el, send Matthew off as he sets out on a journey by himself, leaving the City in the hands of his friends and family.

Panacea eventually became the Founder of House Reid and had a family.

When the City was rebuilt, a statue honoring Panacea was placed in the Memorial Hall alongside the statues of the other founders. However, despite the statue being for Panacea, she chose to have the statue depict Shulk instead, as a sign of the deep respect and devotion she felt for her teacher.
