Professor Codatorta is the head teacher at Red Fountain who teaches sports[2] and so far, the only known teacher. He is a former Fortress of Light knight[2] and served during the Trix's attack on Magix. He is described as "one of the best battle masters."[3]
Appearance
Codatorta is a burly, gruff man with dark brown hair slicked back to reveal his bushy eyebrows and widow's peak. He has a goatee that is attached to his sideburns along his jawline.
Uniform
He wears a dusty, grey shirt that zips up the front and has no sleeves, a darker blue belt, khaki-colored pants, blue boots, and silver gauntlets. He is also very muscular.
He wields a dark blue sword with three rings on the dull side and occasionally uses a dark blue whip.
Master of Ceremonies
He wears a grey suit jacket with black buttons, a grey and white top, and grey pants.
Personality
He is a strict teacher but clearly cares about his students. Although rough-mannered and strict,[2] Codatorta knows how to have fun. He can be seen laughing out loud when Wizgiz accidentally knocked Griselda's own drink onto her and played a board game with Saladin (and grinned widely when he won) during a brief downtime during the war against the Trix. Not to mention he was selected to be the Master of Ceremonies during a concert, which he was most enthusiastic about.
Even during stressful situations, Codatorta remains calm.
Games
Winx Club
In the GameBoy Advanced-only version, he appears as a prisoner in Cloud Tower. Bloom is able to find him and rescue him, for which he thanks her and promises a reward from Saladin.
Join the Club
In one level, he, Faragonda, and Griffin fight Keborg. After defeating him, they go to fight Lord Darkar along with their students.
Skills
He has been shown to demonstrate mastery in the art of hand-to-hand combat, as well as expertise in the field of swordsmanship. As a former Fortress of Light knight, he is proficient in Wu-Gong, highly resistant to magic, immune to poison, and does not feel the cold or heat.[4]
As a former dragon hunter, he can capture and control dragons with ease.
Trivia
- On the official Winx Club website prior to the Season 4 revamp, it was mentioned that Codatorta was once a Knight of the Fortress of Light.[4]
- He is nicknamed "Codatorta the Terrible" by Sky (when he was under Brandon’s alias).[5]
- Fabrizio Temperini, Codatorta's Italian voice actor from Seasons 1 - 3, also voiced Lord Darkar, King Radius of Solaria (Season 3 only), King Teredor of Andros (Season 5 only), the Ice Spirits (Season 3 Episode 4), and Ho-Boe (Season 5 only).
- Dave B. Mitchell also voiced King Cryos of Zenith in the Nickelodeon dub.
- On the Russian version of Winx Club PC game it says that Codatorta is Ortensia's father.
- In the 4Kids dub, Codatorta speaks with a slight Scottish accent.
- Athena, the Guardian Pixie of Red Fountain's Codex, dislikes him.[6]
