The Mi-2 URS is an anti-aircraft helicopter in Polish service which first appears in Wargame: AirLand Battle.
History
Mi-2 URS was a prototype Mi-2 URN with instead of two underslung Mars-2 launchers for 16 57 mm S-5 rockets were four Strzała-2M.
Tactics
- As a result of it having poor optics, the Mi-2 URS should be accompanied by a recon unit at all times. The Mi-2Ro is best suited for this task, since it is based on the same design as the Mi-2 URS. This means that both helicopters have the exact same speed. The Mi-2Ro also possesses exceptional optics.
- The Mi-2 URS has an appalling fuel autonomy of 350 km, meaning you have to be constantly mindful of how much fuel this helicopter has left.
- While this unit does possess an auto cannon, do not use it like a gunship. The auto cannon is very average, having an range against both ground and helicopter targets of 1575m, bad accuracy, and a bad stabilizer. The helicopter itself cannot take many hits as a result of having no armor and a strength of 4.
- The Mi-2 URS has a decent anti-air missile, the Strela 3. This missile has an average range against helicopters (2275m) and a poor range against airplanes (1820m). It has a 50% accuracy and a 50% stabilizer, the values of which can be affected by what veterancy the unit is taken at. The only issue with this missile is the fact that it only has an HE value of 3 and the helicopter itself carries only 4 missiles.
- In conclusion, when paired with good recon, the Mi-2 URS can be very effective. It can be utilized alongside armored thrusts or just as highly mobile response units, able to quickly defend or attack any area on the map. Its faults are that it is a micro heavy unit; it carries a low number of missiles and has bad autonomy.
