History
Saxon was a wheeled APC designed to replaced truck motorization for infantry battalion stationed in Britain whose war plan was to reinforce European formations. These APCs allowed these formations organic armored mobility over trucks that could be taken away. The brigades given Saxon were 19 Brigade a component of 3rd Armoured Division, 24 Brigade in 2nd Infantry Division which were converted into a Airmobile role in 1988 and 1 Brigade core component of the United kingdom Mobile Force which were deployed to LANDJUT as part of the AFNORTH force to defend Denmark.
AT105C was the command variant of the Saxon carrying the battalion or company staff.
