Taesan Ju (주태산, Ju Taesan) is a minor character of How to Fight/Viral Hit.
Appearance
Taesan is a middle aged man often depicted wearing a suit and tie. He has some gray hairs and a square face. Much like his politician persona, he is seen as professsional and calm in almost all instances.
Personality
Joo Taesan is a classic crooked poltician. He behaves like a father-like figure for both Baek Seongjun and 244 while meaning to use them. He and 244 have a mutual understanding of their relationship, while Seongjun has been kept in the dark.
History
Lee Jinho introduced Seongjun to Taesan Ju and told him that Seongjun will take over his money laundering business with the XJ Company. Taesan is skeptical of Seongjun since he seems smart, but he agrees to help Seongjun rise to power if he does as he is told.[1] In reality, Taesan and Jinho wanted to use Seongjun for as long as they could, and were willing to discard him the moment he became a problem.

Seongjun Baek
Synopsis
Taesan Ju holds a meeting with Seongjun and 244 following their altercation. He tells Seongjun that he ordered 244 to give the contract to Hobin. He tells Seongjun that his Newtube days are over, and it is time for him to enter politics now that he has a following and a clean slate. The three of them will wash their hands clean of the money laundering business and push the blame onto Hobin, the new successor. Seongjun thanks them for supporting him and leaves the meeting.[3]
244 later visits Taesan Ju at the dentist's office, where he is getting a cleaning. 244 confirms that he sent Hobin the dossier about Seongjun's past. Taesan asks if it is alright to talk about this in front of the dentist, but 244 says Hobin is probably calling him out already.[4] Taesan then asks if Seongjun might go after him, but 244 reassures him that Seongjun is probably only worried about Hobin right now.[5]
244 assures Taesan that they are still going to ditch Seongjun, but they will do it when Seongjun attacks Hobin. Taesan then witnesses Yeonwoo's case against Seongjun. He gets a call from Seongjun asking for help and yells at him for being so brash to attack a political figure. He tells Seongjun that he never had a chance in politics, and hangs up. [6]
Seongjun calls Congressman Taesan Ju back and tells him that he will be arresting himself for conspiracy to commit murder and charges of tax evasion. Since the XJ Company is closely linked to Ju, it will cause issues for him down the line. This is his way of getting revenge on the congressman. Taesan Ju visits 244 to complain about the situation, and 244 tells him that he will handle it.[7] 244 says he will have reporters craft a story that Seongjun Baek took his life in front of the police rather than be arrested. He isn't worried about Seongjun coming out alive, since he hired professional assassins.[8] After the death of Seongjun, Taesan celebrates with drinks.[9]
Hobin is invited to eat with Taesan Ju and 244 at a restaraunt. He is nervous, and spills a drink on Taesan. Upon seeing Hobin's naivete, Taesan relaxes and becomes assured about 244's successor. 244 is suspicious but lets his guard slide. He gets up to leave suddenly, and Hobin is alone with Taesan. He gets him drunk and asks him about Seongjun. In his bag are the macaron recording devices Rumi used before. 244 escorts Taesan out of the building, who is drunk out of his mind. Taesan mentions talking about Seongjun, and 244 gets suspicious. [10]
Taesan sobers up and learns about Hobin's attempt to expose him. He shuts down his channel and becomes enraged that 244 didn't take action against the channel beforehand. 244 tells Taesan he has nobody to be ashamed of but himself for lowering his guard. There is little need to worry however, since Hobin's channel was a violent one, and suspending his channel will not be challenged much.[11]
When Taesan Ju hears of Hye-yeon's death, he goes to 244 and slaps him. He asks how 244 could have killed her when she was such a powerful figure, and related to Yong Hwang no less. 244 asks if he should have left her alive. Taesan Ju becomes aware of Dongseok glaring at him, and 244 tells him to stay in his lane.[12]
Congressman Taesan Ju later wakes up to a phone call from a reporter, who says his crimes are being exposed on the news. He asks where is 244, and the reporter says he is currently in trouble because the Yoo Hobin company is filming the arrival of his ship full of drugs. Taesan calls Yong Hwang, who asks why he didn't come to Hye-yeon's funeral. Taesan tells Yong that he will go down if he doesn't do something about the situation, and Yong says he is ready to face the consequences of his actions, and so should Taesan.[13]
Taesan Ju appears in front of reporters to say he will cooperate with the investigation. He asks Yong Hwang if he isn't scared of the consequences, but Yong accepts the punishment. He tells the reporters to tune in the Seongjun Baek's Newtube stream, and that a boy is fighting for justice.[14]
