He was portrayed by Qi Hang.

Biography

Xiahou Jie was a skilled and greedy martial artist obsessed with valuable swords. He was also a General working for the tyrant Dong Zhuo and was close with his strongest warrior Lu Bu. Sometime during 190 AD he wanted to obtain two precious and legendary swords that belonged to another skilled martial artist and general named Zhao An, father of Zhao Yun, the Yi Tian Sword and the Qing Gang Sword in order to present them to his lord Dong Zhuo. One day, Xiahou Jie, wearing a mask in order to hide his identity led an attack against Zhao An in order to steal his swords, resulting in Zhao An's death. However, he failed to obtain the swords. He was also an enemy of Zhao An's friend, Li Quan, who later became the master of Zhao Yun, from whom he wanted to steal a legendary military tactics book. Xiahou Jie also had a daughter whom he loved much, named Xiahou Qingyi and intented to marry her to Gao Ze.

Later, his daughter met and befriended Zhao Yun and a romance developed between the two. Xiahou Jie didn't like this but pretended to be friendly to Zhao Yun, who wasn't aware that Xiahou was the man responsible for his parent's deaths, while also secretly planning to kill him. He along with Gao Ze and his minion Geng Chun worked together attacking Zhao Yun and his friends multiple times resulting in some of them dying, including his master Li Quan. Eventually, around 199 Xiahou Jie showed his true colors, and personally attacked Zhao Yun revealing who he was.

The duel between them was fierce but in the end Zhao Yun bested and fatally injured Xiahou Jie but refused to finish him, as he was helpless and was also the father of the woman he loved. Zhao Yun revelaled the military book that Jie so desperetely wanted but claimed to have memorized it and burned it in front on him much to Jie's displease. Zhao Yun then left him alone and told some of Jie's men to go and save him. Unfortunately for Xiahou Jie, Gao Ze who was observing all of this appeared before him and slit his throat, in order for Zhao Yun to be framed and hated by Xiahou Qingyi, whom he also loved. Xiahou Jie's death (along with his daughter's) would be ironically avenged by Zhao Yun himself two decades later.
