Warp

Emil LaSalle, better known as Warp, is a villain in the DC comics and an enemy of Doom Patrol and the Teen Titans. He has the ability to time-travel and steal anything he desires. He is a French villain who uses teleportation via his suit. He was later recruited by the Brotherhood of Evil.

In the 2003 series, Teen Titans, he was voiced by Xander Berkeley, who also voiced General Immortus in the same series.

Biography

Little is known about LaSalle's life other than he was born in France and gained his teleportation powers through unknown circumstances.

As the villainous Warp, LaSalle joined the Brotherhood of Evil because of the group's plan for revenge against a woman known as Madame Rouge who he holds a personal grudge against. In a battle with the New Teen Titans, the Brotherhood succeeded in killing Rouge and her accomplices. The Brotherhood then turned their attention to Brother Blood. In an attempt to learn Blood's secrets, Warp kidnapped Raven, but the Titan was rescued by her team mates.

Later, Warp joined Alexander Luthor Jr's Secret Society of Super Villains and helped Psycho Pirate release the intergalactic serial killer Doomsday.

A year after the "Infinite Crisis" event, Warp rejoined the Brotherhood of Evil. He was taken to the prison planet along with most of Earth's super-criminals, as part of Amanda Waller's "Project: Salvation Run". He joined Luthor's faction, but was abandoned there when Luthor, Sivana, Ivo, and Grodd used his powers to fuel the device which returned them all home. The device exploded, seemingly killing Warp in the process, but he is resurrected in The New 52 reboot.

Television History

Teen Titans

Warp first appeared when he arrived from the future and stole a clock machine, but the Teen Titans fought him and attempted to defeat him. As Warp started to time-travel back to the future, Starfire attacked him and pulled his vortex out of his chest, causing Starfire to land in the future, where it was snowy. Starfire found her friends, who were aged, but they were no use against Warp. Starfire was the only hope to fight Warp. Suddenly, a dark figure appeared, turning out to be Nightwing. As the other Teen Titans got their message, they joined Starfire and Nightwing to fight Warp. Just as Warp attempted to time travel, Nightwing defeated Warp and was reduced to an infant.

During the events of the Brotherhood Of Evil, Warp reappeared back to his adult self, he became a member of the Brotherhood of Evil. He was sent along with See-More to capture Herald, but they failed and got defeated. Later on, during the final battle, he was defeated again by Thunder, before to retreat he was resolved to self-destruct and presumed dead (not needing to be flash-frozen).

Smallville

He later appeared in the live action show Smallville as a member of the Suicide Squad helping Rick Flag on a mission. In this show he is played by Elias Toufexis, who also played Bronson in the same series, Ansem Weems in Supernatural, Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern in The Mortal Instruments, voiced The Penguin in Gotham Knights and Seraphim in Blood of Zeus.
