Reeves Rambo is the titular overarching antagonist of the Rambo franchise. A Navajo man, he is the father of John Rambo.

Biography

Past

Reeves was born in 1922. He lived on a horse farm in Arizona. In the novelization of Rambo: First Blood Part II, John mentions that his father drank and beat his mother, Marie Drago. When John was a young age, Marie died of cancer, leaving the boy at the mercy of his crazy father, who constantly assaulted him. When John was seventeen, his drunk father tried to kill him with a knife, but John shot him with his Compound Bow, nearly killing him. John would run away that night and later be drafted into the army.

Rambo IV

On the boat ride into Burma, Sarah Miller asked John if he has a family back home. John replied that he has a father and implies he doesn't feel connected to him. Sarah suggested that he should go back home, but John shrugged it off, content with his life in Thailand. However, after the end of the film, he was encouraged by Sarah's words and went home, where he saw his father's rusted mailbox at his horse farm. John looks back at the road he has been walking since the first film, hesitant to proceed, but then keeps walking, have finally moved on with his life.

Rambo: Last Blood

Reeves passed away in 2000, at the age of 77-78, and his grave is seen on the ranch next to his wife's grave. The R. Rambo mailbox was seen on two occasions in the film, as well several family photos that appear to be him. In addition, John is revealed to have regretted running away. One photo shows him with Rambo having won something with one of their horses and another shows him with his wife and Rambo holding a trophy for something they won for.

Trivia
