Mahito, also known as Stitchface, is the secondary antagonist of the manga/anime series Jujutsu Kaisen. He is a member of the Disaster Curses and the archenemy of Yuji Itadori, as well as his dark reflection.
He is a special grade Cursed Spirit born from the hatred that humans feel for each other, alongside Jogo, Hanami and Dagon, who allied with Kenjaku in order to achieve their ultimate goal of eradicating humanity and replacing the population with Cursed Spirits. Mahito, despite being a young and inexperienced Cursed Spirit, is also heavily stated to be among the strongest, mainly due to his technique, Idle Transfiguration, which lets him manipulate and reshape the soul of himself and anyone else. Combined with his gifted intellect and rapid growth of potential, he is among the most dangerous and powerful Cursed Spirits in the series.
As mentioned above, he became the archenemy of Yuji Itadori after killing his friend Junpei Yoshino, with Mahito making it his personal goal to break his spirit so he could kill him while he's in despair, even willing to abandon his comrades' goal to accomplish his selfish desire. Due to Yuji being safe from his Idle Transfiguration technique, Mahito crowns him as his "natural enemy".
In the Japanese dub, he was voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki, who also voiced Joffrey Baratheon in the Japanese dub of Game of Thrones and Tooru in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R. In the English dub, he was voiced by Lucien Dodge, who also voiced Akaza in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Zoisite in Sailor Moon, Toshikazu Hazamada in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, Chin in Re:Zero, and Yukio Hans Vorarlberna in Bleach.
Appearance
Mahito is a humanoid Cursed Spirit with a patchwork face and a set of gray eyes, though he is said to have heterochromia in the anime, where his left eye is dark blue. He also has long hair with a silver-gray color that reaches all the way down to his neck and is sectioned with three strands tied at the end of it. Just like his face, Mahito has stitches all across his body. He happens to wear a black shawl shirt that has three pieced torns on the left sleeve, matching colored pants, and white shoes.
Personality
Mahito is a cursed spirit born from the hate and fear that humans hold towards each other and, as a result, is able to mimic their behaviors in order to blend in. However, he commits violence in a casual and calm manner for seemingly no other reason than his own pleasure. Mahito has stated that he believes that all life holds no inherent value and that living beings, such as cursed spirits and humans, should live their lives as they please.
Under his thinly veiled façade of casualty and eccentricity, Mahito is intelligent, arrogant, nihilistic, cruel, sadistic, misanthropic, cunning, manipulative, and immature in his nature. He has a general belief that he is the manifestation of humanity's transgressions and their hatred for one another, leading him to have the desire to let Cursed Spirits rule the world while having humanity extinguished.
He appears to have no sympathy for human lives and apparently holds little value for them. Even to the point where Mahito only sees them as his toys, which is demonstrated when he first manipulated Junpei and killed him in front of Yuji as he and Sukuna laughed at the latter's despair. He also acts more sadistic when it comes to battling his opponents.
Mahito's personality seems to have some kind of similarity compared to Satoru Gojo through superficiality, which in contrast likens him to one of his comrades, Jogo, who is hot-headed and arrogant, whereas the latter is mostly described as being a bit playful and relatively calm most of the time when he's with the others. Despite their differences, they each have the same mutual desire to revive Sukuna and have the Cursed Spirits reign over the world.
He also happens to be highly philosophical when it comes to the human soul, believing that human souls came from the body instead of the soul being a singularity in terms of its nature, and he has a bit of an obsession with it given that he experiments on humans, whether adults or children, using his cursed technique.
Even though he claimed to be proud of being with his fellow allies, Mahito appears to have become more disloyal and disingenuous about it, as he disregarded Hanami's death under Gojo's hands, not even bothering to mourn him. Even though he planned to have Sukuna revived and recruit him, he ends up letting go of such an ambition, as his only desire now is to corrupt or kill Yuji. At his core, Mahito is a selfish and callous ally who does what he wants, even at the cost of those he fights alongside. Even moments before he is absorbed, he tries to take aim at getting rid of Kenjaku, presumably knowing the latter would get rid of him from the start.
Mahito also proved that, in the end, for all of his nihilistic beliefs, he is a coward who fears death. The reason Mahito is always so smug about himself is because most other sorcerers are unable to deal direct damage to his soul. But when Yuji does deal damage to it, Mahito is noticeably shocked about it, and his carefree and smug attitude begins to slip. In the Shibuya Incident event, after being pushed into a corner and seeing Yuji's willingness to kill him, Mahito quickly tries to run away. The anime provided further proof of his cowardice, as he cries pathetically and throws clumps of mud at Yuji while blubbering uncontrollably.
Powers and Abilities
As an unregistered special grade cursed spirit, Mahito is one of the most powerful and dangerous individuals in the series. While he is young and rather inexperienced, he possesses an incredible amount of potential, a powerful and dangerous technique, and is highly intelligent and cunning in battle, and due to his rapid growth, he continues to grow more stronger and powerful than before.
Jujutsu
- Idle Transfiguration: His most powerful and dangerous innate technique, and his signature one, Idle Transfiguration allows Mahito to manipulate and distort the shape of the human souls and transfigure their bodies as a result. This happens when Mahito touches the physical body of the human, allowing him to distort the soul and disfigure his target's body into something horribly grotesque. This also allows him to create "Transfigured Humans", monstrous beings who resemble something of a cursed spirit. However, his technique has some drawbacks. Firstly, those who face the threat of his technique can stay out of his range and use curse energy to protect themselves. While it can still injure the individual's body if touch, it doesn't completely distort the individual's soul, but it can if the technique hits them two or three direct times. Techniques like Nobara's are also difficult for him, since her ability is not only long range, but it can also attack the soul directly through a sympathetic resonance. Another major drawback is when it comes to Yuji, due to being the vessel of Sukuna. Mahito cannot transfigure souls selectively and has to touch all of the souls within, which puts him in grave danger since Sukuna doesn't like his soul to be touched.

Trivia
- Kohei Horikoshi, the author of My Hero Academia, has admitted Mahito is his favorite character from Jujutsu Kaisen. Funnily enough, Mahito shares many similarities with the main villain of My Hero Academia, Tomura Shigaraki.
- Both Mahito and Shigaraki are blue-haired villains who are the arch-enemy of the protagonists, who are both Pure Good.
- Both are villains who experience growth throughout the story alongside the hero, becoming more powerful.
- Both are villains heavily associated with the use of hands, which they use in combat as their primary mediums for their signature abilities (Idle Transfiguration for Mahito & Decay for Shigaraki).
- Both are villains who have a friendship with the group of villains, although while Shigaraki genuinely cares about the League, Mahito is at best, mildly fond of the Disaster Curses.
- Both are allies with the overarching villain of the story (All For One and Kenjaku), who serves as their mentor but truly just see them as pawns they intend to betray.
- However, the biggest difference is Shigaraki is a tragic character and actually ends up being the biggest threat in the story during the final arc, while Mahito's more despicable and is eliminated halfway through the story instead.
- Because of the similarities mentioned above, Mahito and Shigaraki were pitted against eachother in the 194th episode of DEATH BATTLE, where he lost to Shigaraki's superior power.

- Both Mahito and Dabi are sadistic and nihilistic Archnemesis to the main heroes who always insults their beliefs.

- Because of his actions, Mahito is considered as the most hated villain in "Jujutsu Kaisen".
