Jalhalla is a major antagonist in the 2002 action-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
He is a fat, ghostly being comprised of over a dozen Poes, all of which are fused together by a magical mask. Responsible for the murder of Laruto the Earth Sage on behalf of Ganondorf, Jalhalla continues to haunt the Earth Temple years afterwards in order to keep anyone from accessing the Master Sword's power.
Biography
Past
After Ganondorf broke free from the Sacred Realm, he sent out monsters to kill the remaining Sages in order to drain the Master Sword's power and leave himself invincible. One such monster was Jalhalla, a massive, seemingly obese Poe that was, in reality, around fifteen Poes fused together by a magical mask. Jalhalla killed the Earth Sage, Laruto, and remained in the Earth Temple to continue haunting it and keep any heroes from regaining the Sage's power.
The Wind Waker
Many years later, Laruto's descendant, Medli, awakens as the new Earth Sage. She teams up with Link and the King of Red Lions, who seek to power up the Master Sword in order to defeat Ganondorf. Together, the three sail to the Earth Temple, where Link and Medli descend into the temple's depths.
After conquering most of the Earth Temple and obtaining the Mirror Shield, Link is separated from Medli as he enters a mysterious room. There, he encounters a large group of Poes, who notice him and proceed to fly into a mask at the center of the room, forming Jalhalla.
Link battles Jalhalla by reflecting light onto him with the Mirror Shield, which stuns him. This allows Link to pick him up and hurl him into the spikes that line the room's walls, at which point Jalhalla loses his form and splits into individual Poes, which Link can take out one by one. As the battle progresses, Jalhalla will attempt to block out the light, but to no avail. After defeating the final Poe, Jalhalla, now just a mask, attempts to escape, only to fly straight into a beam of light that destroys him for good.
With Jalhalla exorcised from the Earth Temple, Laruto's spirit is freed, allowing her to transfer her power to Medli and return the Master Sword's magical glow.

- Big Poe, a boss from Four Swords Adventures, heavily resembles Jalhalla in both design and concept.
