Feng Twins

It's a shame we have to kill this one. He looks like fun.
Business before pleasure, Mei Mei, the master wants his head on a stake.
~ The Feng Twins about to face Indiana Jones.

The Feng Twins are supporting antagonists the 2003 action-adventure video game Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, the third original Indiana Jones video game.

They are two Chinese twins who work for the Black Dragon Triad, serving as the bodyguards of the Triad leader Kai Ti Chang. In 1935, the Feng Twins assist their master in his search to retrieve the Heart of the Dragon from Emperor Qin Shi Huang's tomb, offering their help if he needs them to spy on his secretary Mei Ying or if he needs her to protect himself.

They were voiced by Jennifer L. Yen.

History

The Feng Twins are two criminal sisters who, by the mid-1930s, have started working for the Chinese official Kai Ti Chang, who secretly operates as the ruthless leader of the Black Dragon Triad, bent on finding the Heart of the Dragon inside Emperor Qin Shi Huang's tomb to gain all men's will and take over China, with the assistance of the undercover agent Mei Ying and a group of the Nazis.

In 1935, the Feng Twins follow Indiana Jones to the ancient city of Belisarius at Istanbul, Turkey, presumably to check on that Jones has recovered all three fragments, and standing from afar, the Feng Twins witness how Mei Ying reveals her true mission to Indiana, who teams up with her to prevent Kai from finding the Emperor's Tomb. This later leads Kai to send his men to abduct Mei when they all reunite at The Golden Lotus, with the Feng Twins standing at Kai's side as Wu Han tells Indy that Kai sends him champagne as a "gift", while Albrecht Von Beck takes Mei to his U-boat en route to Peng Lai Island, Kai's headquarters.

The Feng Twins accompany their boss when he gets to have an argument with Von Beck and his men at the Nazi facility Kai let Von Beck built in Peng Lai, because of Kai hiring Indiana Jones to double-cross them (though Von Beck doesn't know it). They depart with their boss after he solves his issues with Von Beck, unaware that Von Beck plans to dispose of Kai once the Heart is found.

Once he finds his way into the Black Dragon Fortress, Indy waits for Kai to leave the room where he has left Mei restrained so he can sacrifice her for Kong Tien, but the Feng Twins suddenly reveal themselves to have been hiding in the room, possibly to verify that Mei wouldn't escape, leading the sisters to fight the American archaeologist to kill him and bring his head to Kai despite admitting that he looks funny. However, Indy easily defeats but falls through a trapdoor, which separates him from Mei for a while before reuniting with her as Kai starts his sacrifice ritual. It's unknown what happened to the Feng Twins afterwards, but it can be assumed that they were crushed to death by debris Kong Tien caused to fall when she possesses Mei.

Trivia

  • True to Indiana Jones' one-liner while fighting the twins, the Feng Twins have the distinction of being the sole Indiana Jones villainesses that Indy has hit throughout his adventures: even Elsa Schneider and Irina Spalko, who backstabbed or tried to kill him in the films, were merely shoved in a non-violent way by Jones whenever they targeted him, proving Indy a man true of his word.
  • Due to how last names go first and before the first name in China, it's possible that Feng is the last name of the two sisters. However, this hasn't been confirmed.
