Fami (キガ Kiga), also known as the Famine Devil, is a major antagonist in the Chainsaw Man franchise. She is the Devil representing the fear of famine. One of the Four Horsemen, she and her sisters were involved in a great battle against Chainsaw Man in the past.
Appearance
In her human form she has the appearance of a white haired, teenaged girl with ringed pupils like her sisters and dons a high school uniform.
Personality
Despite her rank as one of the Four Horseman, after taking the form of a highschooler, her personality ran contrary to what would be assumed of her status. Famine Devil appeared to be heavily neurotic and meek to the point of nervously crying while introducing herself to her new classmates. When explaining her intentions to classmate she reveals that she wanted to "save them" by killing them as she sees human life as earthly suffering and that can be saved through death. She has the usual pride of a devil as she refused to do menial tasks like throwing away trash, seeing it beneath her and a waste of her talents. She is also arrogant to the point of delusion, believing she could kill Fake Chainsaw Man in three seconds after being easily defeated in hand to hand combat seconds before. Shockingly, Fami is quite cowardly as after being easily dismembered for the second time by Fake Chainsaw Man she begged for help and forgiveness.
Biography
Background
Many years ago, the Four Horseman, along with the Weapon Devils, were locked in a heated battle with Chainsaw Man, who in the end ran away and disappeared. The Horsemen went onto looking for him, unsuccessfully, after that, they went their own ways.
In an unknown period of time, the Prophecy of Nostradamus was written, foreseeing the arrival of Death, who would bring the end of humanity and usher in the Age of Devils in July 1999.
Part 1: Public Safety Arc
The Famine Devil is first alluded to when Makima reveals to Kishibe her plan to use Pochita to erase the concepts of death, war, and hunger.
Part 2: Academy Arc
The Death Devil takes the name of Famine and arrives on earth. The name is first mentioned by name when Hirofumi Yoshida asks Denji if he (as Chainsaw Man) would be willing to devour the Death Devil for the sake of humanity. Later, Yoshida informs "Fami" about the Prophecy of Nostradamus and the arrival of a "Great King of Terror" in July 1999 that plans to end humanity and usher in an Age of Devils.
In June of 1999, the real Famine Devil arrives to Tokyo and takes the form of a high school girl attending Fourth East High School. While briefly introducing herself and crying heavily, she is ignored by most of the class and asked to throw away trash by one of the boys to which she refused. One of the girls stated that she was bringing the mood down and told Famine Devil to go away and kill ants outside, while doing this she is met by the same boy who attempts to console her. However Famine Devil reaffirms that she wants to save the boy and the school by releasing them from their earthly suffering, but before she can kill him she is interrupted by the arrival of the Fake Chainsaw Man. Fake Chainsaw Man recognizes her as a Devil and attempts to save the boy, leading to the two fighting where she is swiftly cut in half.
While the boy is distracted, Famine Devil's dismembered arm touches him and immediately drains his life force allowing her to regenerate. The Famine Devil analyses Fake Chainsaw Man's fighting style and arrogantly declares she will kill him three seconds before she is almost immediately cut to pieces, she then proceeded to tearfully beg for help. Upon draining the life of ants, she reveals herself as the real Famine Devil, much to the confusion of the Fake Chainsaw Man, but "Fami", revealed to be the Death Devil and had stolen Fami's identity, summons the Falling Devil to tear down her sister and the Chainsaw Man imposter.
Death tells Fami that even if she dies and her reincarnation won't enjoy human culture like she does, then humanity is doomed to extinction. When both Fami and Fake Chainsaw Man suggest she stops and altogether and live in peace, though Death notes that it's not possible given her full power will activate once the Prophecy of Nostradamus becomes a reality. After Fami suggests allowing herself to be eaten by Chainsaw Man, Death silently refuses then attempts to convince both Fami and Fake Chainsaw Man to cooperate with her, only to reveal she is going to kill and eat them whole. Fami is then killed and eaten alive by Death while her remains are transformed back into a controlled pawn. Fami initially resists control and punches Death but is restrained by the Falling Devil. Death then commands Fami and Fake Chainsaw Man to plunge humanity into an abyss of terror to which she agrees.
Powers and Abilities
- Immortality: As a Primal Fear and one of the most powerful Devil's in existence, the Famine Devil is immortal and nearly unkillable, as like all Devils she can regenerate and manipulate her limbs while disembodied, she has allegedly never underwent a cycle of reincarnation once.
- Life Manipulation: The Famine Devil possesses the ability kill those she makes contact with by draining their lifeforce. Much like her younger sister she needs to physically touch them for this ability to activate.
- Hand-to-Hand Combat: Fami possesses some level of martial arts prowess and knowledge, though the extent of which is questionable. During her battle with Fake Chainsaw Man, she demonstrated her proficiency in hand-to-hand combat by roundhouse kicking him, only to be swiftly shredded to pieces.

Trivia
- Fami's name is entirely in katakana (キガ), showcasing no semantic meanings. However her name is a play on the quantity of syllables of the word famine to the amount of mora its Hepburn romanization "Kiga" has.
- Likewise, this name is only present in the English translation as the Spanish, French, and Portuguese translations use her original name "Kiga".
- The Famine Devil is the last horseman to appear.
