Dire Wolf

The Dire Wolf is the secondary antagonist of Terminator: Revolution, the final installment of the T2 Saga Timeline of the Terminator franchise.

It is a canine-based Terminator created by Skynet to destroy the T-Infinity.

Biography

When Skynet was unable to locate the T-Infinity, it became concerned that it was reprogrammed by the Resistance, and so it created the Dire Wolf to destroy it. Upon arriving in 2015, the Dire Wolf when the Resistance's HQ, as it was the last place the T-Infinity was located before accidentally traveling to 1996 with John Connor. After engaging the Resistacne, the Dire Wolf came under attack of several HK-Aerial units because they couldn't identify it, due to it not being listed in their databases.

Unable to find it's target, the Dire Wolf headed to Skynet Research & Development facility in Willo Grove, only to be confronted and attacked by T-800s and HK-Aerials guarding the place. After destroying the machines, the Dire Wolf entered the facility and went to the Time Displacement Equipment, before setting the destination to Cahaba Road, Alabama in 1996. Kyle Reese tracked the Terminator down to the TDE and was about to destroy it with a sniper rifle. However, the Dire Wolf noticed Kyle's presence and attacked him before he could pull the trigger. Kyle tried to escape, but accidentally got inside the TDE's sphere, with the Dire Wolf following suit.

The Dire Wolf arrived at the woods where Sarah Connor, John and his younger self were fighting the T-Infinity, which was heavily damaged, having lost it's right arm. It ambushed the T-Infinity from behind, quickly ripping it's head with ease. Soon after the destroying the T-Infinity, the Dire Wolf came under attack from the Connors. Kyle soon joined the action with a minigun, and John fired two granades at the canine-like Terminator, destroying it.

Trivia

• This Terminator is named after a real-life species of the genus Canis that is extinct.
• The Dire Wolf is almost as big as a HK-Aerial (see "Gallery" above).
• Like the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise, the Dire Wolf possesses a fanged tongue.
