Wally (ウォーリー Wōrī?) is one of Zaybi's subordinates and a member of the Northern Team Seven, one of the Mage Forces' teams.
Appearance
Wally wears a tunic, loose-fitting trousers, simple shoes, dark mage robe, and always carries his spiral-shaped staff with him. On his head he wears an accessory resembling a kippah.
Personality
Wally is generally a calm person, yet there are moments when his composure is challenged, revealing a natural fear of mortality. This was particularly evident during his confrontation with the robots, where, finding himself defenseless, Wally experienced the instinctive dread of perishing that many confront in the face of danger.
Plot
Introduction Arc
Wally debuts alongside Zaybi and Freen when they're about to meet Hallow, who had been knocked down by Jachi. While Zaybi is talking with Hallow, Wally spots a large storm forming, meaning the plan of summoning another world worked. Wally engages in fight against the approaching demons, launching fireballs alongside Freen, but they're overran. Unexpectedly, the demons are shot by a group of gun-armed soldiers.[1]
While Keila and her squad are losing against the robots, Zaybi strikes them down with earthquake magic, followed by Wally's Frost Magic to freeze them. When another horde of Demons approach them, alongside a swarm of robots that learned and countered their abilities, Wally starts begging for his life while Zaybi feels helpless. An injured Wally manages to make it out of the area thanks to Freen's teleport magic.[2]
At the meeting with otherworldly humans, one of Indignia's humans stresses out due to them angering God. Zaybi asks Wally to calm him down using mind-calming magic.[3]
Demons vs Aliens Arc
Amid Kiva's siege of the fortress, Wally is seen participating in the battle, covering Hallow from the top of the fortress alongside Gyuta, Freen and the other mages.[4] When the Madalans are beating Kiva and his fellow demon executives, the mages recover the demons' mana in order to defeat the aliens.[5] Eventually, Wally and his fellow humans succeeded in fleeing their stronghold, which had been utterly devastated by demons, aliens, and in the end by Daikokuzan's actions.[6][7]
Demon Lord Arc
In the Land of the Lawless, humans observe the Lawless combat a menacing parasite. Wally and his fellow mages endure the agony of witnessing their king's demise.[7] Their sorrow is abruptly transformed into shock when the fallen monarch starts to move, hinting at life. A warning of parasitic danger prompts Zaybi to conjure a cubic shield, enclosing himself and the king within. Tragically, splattered by the king's blood, Zaybi is left presumably infected by the parasite, which startles both Wally and Freen.[8]
Later, when Zaybi attempts to sacrifice himself and help Samone from becoming the parasite's food, he soon notices he doesn't have any mana left. The sight of their captain, drained of mana and succumbing to unconsciousness as another parasite nearly claims his life, deeply troubles Wally and Freen.[9] In a twist of fate, the Lawless emerge as saviors, "rescuing" Zaybi from the jaws of death.[10]
After the Lawless retreat and the humans take shelter, Freen and Wally are asked by Glasp to help him with the plan. The duo then informs Zaybi of the plan and that Zaybi can decline if he wants. After a short conversation on the condition of Neo-Terra's humans that helped Zaybi, Freen and Wally reveal they have consumed white pills beforehand and preparation is complete. Freen uses Lockout Magic, Cube while Wally uses Toxic Magic, Poison Cloud. As Zaybi writhes in pain, Freen wants to stop and cast anti-poison only to see Zaybi calling for another poison spell. As the duo displays concerns when Zaybi screams out, Zaybi coughs out the parasite alongside his blood, which gets captured by Wally's Cube. The duo casts anti-poison and healing magic on Zaybi right afterwards.[11]
