Pemmican Bar

Pemmican Bar is a Food And Drink item in The Long Dark. It is learned after acquiring its unique Recipe Card.

Overview

It is only acquired when trading with the Trader for the Recipe Card named "Orca Bar." This is the only Recipe Card not named after the recipe.

Cooking the ingredients generates four (4) bars, each weighing 0.0625kg (stacking up to 0.25kg for all 4).

• Increased carry weight (Unburdened) (+3kg for 3 hours)
• Increased maximum stamina (Nourished) (+15% for 3 hours)
• Positive Fatigue increase (15%)

Pemmican Bars do not produce Scent.

Trivia

• Real world Pemmican is quite famous for lasting a very long time (from 6 months to several years). It is often used in very poor survival situations, and is often typically associated with the diets of various Native American tribes or being used by American Voyager settlers.
• Pemmican is typically composed of dried meat pounded into a coarse powder or mash, then mixed with an equal amount of melted fat and cooked. Occasionally, berries are added to the mix (Rose Hips are used in game).
