Alex Taylor

Alex Taylor is the main protagonist and role the player takes on in The Crew. He is voiced by Troy Baker and Takehito Koyasu in the Japanese dub.

Alex is a street racer who works with FBI Agent Zoe Winters to infiltrate the 5-10 Motor Club and expose the corruption of Bill Coburn along with Dennis "Shiv" Jefferson.

History

Background

Relatively little is known about Alex's life before The Crew. Alex's older brother, Dayton Taylor, was the founder and V8 of the 5-10 Motor Club leading up to the beginning of the story.

The Crew

Prologue

Alex first appears in the prologue of The Crew, where he successfully evades pursuing law enforcement. Harry gets Alex into a race event and asks for Alex to meet with Dayton noting that they were unusually nervous. Alex later meets up with Dayton and drives him to meet up with an unknown assailant to discuss funds that have gone missing from the club. After a brief exchange between the two, the person shoots and kills Dayton. Alex is framed for the murder by Bill Coburn who deems the murder weapon to be used by Alex. He is later sentenced for what is presumed to be sentenced to 13 years in prison.

Midwest Operations

Five years later since the incident. Alex is visited by FBI Agent Zoe Winters offers to clear Alex's criminal record in exchange for infiltrating the 5-10 Motor Club and bringing down Bill Coburn along with Shiv. Alex agrees and begins the operation in the Detroit where he is given a headquarters and funds to pick out his first vehicle. After completing various missions and races for Troy and later on Herschel, Alex receives his 5-10 ink.

East Coast Operations

Alex reunites with Harry in New York upon receiving his 5-10 ink. Initially dissatisfied, Harry agrees to Alex's vengeance proposal and introduces him to the 5-10s operations in the East Coast and supplies Alex with a headquarters in New York. After completing various missions and races for Eric Tsu, Alex is promoted to V2.

The South Operations

Upon arriving in Miami, Alex finds Alita and gets her, although initially reluctant, to agree to join his crew and she introduces him to The South and its operations. Alex begins to turn other drivers from working under Cam to joining the 5-10s. Alex helps Cam elude Coburn after figuring out his plan to kill him. To show his gratitude towards Alex saving him, Cam awards Alex with V4.

Mountain States Operations

Alex heads to Las Vegas and meets with Roxanne who was previously communicating with him under the alias "r0xx0r". She joins the crew as Alex agrees to help her find her sister Daria and introduces him to the Mountain States and its operations. Zoe finds out that Coburn is selling impounded contraband. She instructs Alex head to Death Valley to collect evidence against him. Coburn shows up and after a lengthy chase, is stopped by Alex and arrested by Zoe and other FBI agents at the Las Vegas Airport. Shiv notices Alex's work in the Mountain States and promotes him to V6.

West Coast Operations

Alex arrives in Los Angeles and meets with Vincent and gets him to join his crew. Vincent introduces Alex to the West Coast operations and the face-off event. Shiv rigs multiple events Alex participates in in an attempt to stop Alex from reaching him. After overcoming the missions and races, Alex finds Shiv at a victory party. Initially intent on assassinating Shiv, he instead challenges Shiv to a face-off on the road. Upon losing to Alex, Shiv attempts to flee but is taken down by Alex and shortly arrested by local law enforcement. Alex is now free and still continues to work with Zoe dealing other 5-10s activity around the country.
