Sanctum

TK8 st 10 p
Gimmick Wallbreak

Sanctum is a stage in Tekken 8. It is within Yakushima, and is accessed through the large cedar tree on that stage.

Description

The stage takes place in a small, abandoned hideout in a forest cave. It is dimly lit; with the only source of light being a small hole in the cave ceiling where sunlight creeps in. There are two Hard Wall Breaks on each side in the starting configuration.

If either of the walls is broken, or if both players are at match point, the floor will collapse, causing the next round to occur inside a hidden refuge underneath. Two normal Wall Breaks in the form of wooden fencing are on the lower level.

Background Music

The BGM is titled "Kakuri-yo Kagura".

Trivia

  • "Kakuri-yo Kagura" (幽世神楽), the name of the background music, is Japanese for "Netherworld's divine music".
  • This is the second stage in the series to change configuration automatically as the fight progresses, the first being the Devil's Pit stage in Tekken 7.
  • The lower level originally did not exist, and was only added to the stage in the first Closed Network Test.
  • In Jun Kazama's character episode, it is stated that she took refuge in the Sanctum after her fight with Ogre, having barely survived the fight. She remained here recuperating her strength for many years.
