Naraku

Gimmick Infinite

Naraku (奈落 Naraku) is a boss stage in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken Revolution. This stage is where True Ogre is encountered as the sub-boss in Arcade Mode.

Description

The stage is very dark, gloomy, and desolate as only skulls and ashes litter the ground. The area is located underground with rays of light coming from above. A wooden structure can be seen in the distance with dark blue pillars that have golden designs on them, likely the foundation of the Hall of Judgement, as the player is sent through a trapdoor to this area after defeating Jinpachi and Heihachi in Arcade Mode. A river/stream can also be seen flowing between the rocky structures of the cave. Dark blue or violet-tinted torches can be seen in the distance.

The stage select screen states that this stage is located in Japan, as it is deep below the lair portion of the Hall of Judgement stage.

Background Music

The stage BGM is titled "Utmost Limits" in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and "Fear to Agonize" in Tekken Revolution.

Trivia

  • Naraku (奈落 Naraku) is a Buddhist term for "hell". It is the Japanese transcription of the sanskrit word Naraka (नरक; meaning "the underworld").
  • The stage layout is similar to Azazel's Chamber in Tekken 6.
  • This is one of the stages used for Tekken Tag Tournament 2's Wii U exclusive Mushroom Battle mode, alongside Condor Canyon and Bountiful Sea.
  • Fighters get dirty with ashes on their body when they fall on the ground.
  • The stage's background is so dark that it is practically invisible, following the trend of True Ogre's appearance changing the lighting of the stages during fights in Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament.
