"Ai-chan, Part 1" (アイちゃん①, Ai-chan 1) is the first chapter of the Tawawa on Monday manga. It introduces Ai-chan and her friend from the train, salesman Onii-san.
Synopsis
The reader is introduced to Onii-san, waiting for the train to work on yet another gloomy Monday. However, he explains things have turned for the better lately. As Ai-chan comes down the stairs, we learned that this is how his Monday routine looks like these days, and Ai-chan being the source of his happiness.
Onii-san then recalled the day he first met Ai-chan, which was also a Monday. Ai-chan's breasts got pressed against Onii-san's lower body in a way that he thought could be interpreted as him harrassing her on purpose. He then remembered some advice to avoid false accusations in such situations, saying you should leave them your contact information and leave the scene. Onii-san reached for his wallet to find a business card to give to Ai-chan, but he fumbled and dropped the wallet on top of Ai-chan's breasts. The wallet fell on the floor, prompting Ai-chan to kneel down to reach for it all the while pinned against Onii-san's crotch, making his distress even worse. As the train doors opened, Onii-san left the train in panic before Ai-chan had a chance to return the wallet. She hurried after him, eventually tripping on the chairs, falling breasts first into Onii-san and knocking him unconscious. After being dismissed from the hospital with minor injuries, Onii-san asked for Ai-chan's name, prompting her to come up with the nickname. Onii-san learned that Ai-chan rides the early Monday morning train to be able to attend a committee before school. He ended up forming a pact with Ai-chan where he rides together with her on Mondays to protect her from potential harrassers on the train.
We learn that this pact has been in effect for some time now as we return to the present day timeline. Onii-san notes that this brief moment when Ai-chan belongs to him only has become sort of a sanctuary from the Monday morning blues. As Ai-chan prepares to leave at her stop, we learn another thing that has become a part of Onii-san and Ai-chan's Monday routine. She gives her a button that popped off her shirt the previous week as a keepsake to remember her by. Ai-chan teases Onii-san that next week her nickname will change from Ai-chan to Jay-chan, and an imagine spot tells the reader that her nickname comes from the I cup bra she has just started to grow out of.
