Keys

Overview

Keys are an integral part of the game, used for opening the cages of and thus saving bears. There are 7 keys in every level, as the coin bear does not have one. Key Help can be toggled within the settings of the game. They are presented as yellow, blocky skeleton keys.

Baaren with Key and Key Help

When Baaren runs into a key, Shicka plays an animation and carries the collected key. If Key Help (pictured before) is activated, an arrow will appear above Baaren's head and it will guide him to the cage which the last collected key opens. You can collect more than one key and Shicka wil carry all of them, her way of holding them based on how many you have collected (pictured below). Specifcally, if she carries 2 keys, she will flap her wings. If Baaren opens a cage, either by diving or attacking, Shicka will have one key less or none at all. Keys do not respawn. In older versions, Shicka only has to hold one key at a time, if she gets another one, the previous key will get deleted and you will have to restart the level to retrieve the key again.

  • In old versions, when you collect a key, you hear the coin sound. But it was replaced to another sound which sounded very similar to the current coin sound; but high-pitched.
