Overview
Baaren Bear is the main titular protagonist of Super Bear Adventure. He also looks to be the current mascot of the company who made the game.
He is meant to save the queen and fix the world. Through the game, he battles infected animals and his own brother to fix the world. Baaren is accompanied by his ally and (maybe) best friend, Shicka, the main deuteragonist. Like any typical video game protagonist, he never spoke words, although, he would grunt when he jumped and go higher in pitch when double-jumping in the game.
Characteristics
Personality
Baaren's personality is hard to express, considering he never talked in the game. But throughout the game, he seems like he is a nice bear to everyone and is willing to help. He is willing to risk his life to save the world from evil, he also runs a lot so he must be extremely quick and loves to exercise.
As seen in the beginning of the game, Baaren seems to sometimes run away from his problems, as seen when he somehow managed to avoid the raid in the Bear Village by sleeping with his favorite tree in the Tutorial Zone.
Some instances may show that he can be a bit dimwitted, proven in his brother's hideout, where he was intoxicated with purple honey by his brother as he was the first test subject for the purple honey.
Physical Appearance
Baaren is depicted as a grizzly anthropomorphic bear with a black rectangular nose. He has a tan colored muzzle and belly. He seems to not have arms, legs, or even a neck. He also wears light blue backpack straps that also holds up Shicka.

Relationships
Shicka
Baaren and Shicka share a somewhat friendship brother/sister type of relationship, strengthened by their opposite personalities, with Baaren being limited to speaking, which may mean he is pretty moronic, and Shicka giving tips, making her somewhat clever. It is also obvious that they have a strong relationship which is why Baaren keeps Shicka on his back wherever they go.
Baaren's brother
It seems like they never had a strong relationship, Baaren's brother always wanted to rule the kingdom with Baaren, but Baaren refused and that made his brother try to defeat Baaren.
Trivia
- In game update 10.4, Baaren's feet visibly changes. His right foot is seen to be off-center, made to look more cartoonish, and can express Baaren as a laid-back type of character.
- The dev said he made his name by adding the letter B to the Nordic name, "Aaren", to make it sound like "bear".
- Coincidetally, the name sounds like "bären", which means "bear" in German. Even a user in the Discord server clarified this after the dev said it.
- Baaren's movement in old times was a lot slippery, like you're walking on ice. This was fixed later on.
- The dev posted a devlog video of Baaren's voice changing, as well as the sound effects in the Discord server. This saddened some players as Baaren's current voice is very original and nostalgic.
- The dev had shown that Baaren was first seen sleeping beside a tree in the Tutorial Zone before the disaster happened.
- He was shown to betray his own brother, causing his brother to become the antagonist.
- His somewhat iconic dance consisting of bobbing the head the left and to the right, and waving their arms around as seen in the title screen in older versions was sadly removed but luckily passed on to the Capitalus brothers.
- Additionally, the dance is also seen on the bears in the IMABEAR music video.
