The Dinosaur King is the ruling monarch of Dinotown, Ghost World. The massive brontosaurus towers over all dinosaur ghosts in the town and exerts his authority by roaring and utilising his massive size. To ensure people know just how powerful and important he is, the King always wears a crown on his head, even when he sleeps.
History
The King was one of the many dinosaurs who ruled all of the living worlds for millions of years. That was before the time of the Great Dying, an event that wiped out all dinosaurs and sent them on into Ghost World. From here, they watched as humans took their first step and waited for them to retreat into oblivion, but they grew stronger and became the universe's dominant species. Infuriated, the King wished to reclaim their birthright by ruling these worlds once more. He called on the Wailing Sisters of Witchery World to create a staircase that would give them access to the Skyrock Mountains and made them create a Power Jar that would keep the stairs in position as long it remained safely with the King. Shortly after, the King sent his best troops into the mountains, scaring all the philosophers and other residents, effectively gaining control of the "world".
Little changed until, one day, soldiers Morcie and Wisie delivered a groggy Shion and a stone statue (actually Lukout) to the King and was confused as to why a living being was in his world. After Shion announced his intention, the ruler merely laughed, explaining his history before deciding to execute Shion the next day and force him into his ghostly army. Soundly sleeping that night, he did not notice that Shion and Wordsmith had sneaked into his chambers until a revived Lukout loudly asked what was happening. The King angrily turned on the invaders, but a quickly-applied Potion of Ignorance confused the King as to who he was, who they were and where they were. A genie then convinced the Dinosaur King that the humans were his friends, so cheerfully gave them a lift back to the staircase. The ignorance spell soon wore off, but the dinosaur still believed himself to be their friends and laughed off the trickery. Unfortunately, he yearned to follow his pals up the staircase, following them to the Sleep Clouds. Once the genie's magic ended, however, the Dinosaur King was insensed that he was "behaving like a mammal" and marched onwards, aiming to kill. With help from a Bottled Hurricane, the heroes made it to the Skyrock Mountains and destroyed the Power Jar, sending the stairs (and the King) tumbling back down to Ghost World. Since he was already dead, it is unlikely that fall did much lasting damage.
