Wendle was a human male individual who resided on the planet At Attin during the New Republic Era where he lived together with his son Wim.[1] In 9 ABY,[2] Wim found an old starship buried in the woods outside their city. Together with three other children called Neel, KB, and Fern, Wim investigated the ship but they accidentally activated it and became lost in space. Together with Fern's mother Fara, Wendle tried to find the children and bring them back home.[3]
Battle of At Attin
Wendle played a small but decisive role during the Battle of At Attin. His knowledge as a Level 7 Systems Coordinator allowed him to restore power to the clamps holding the Onyx Cinder which made it possible to release them, allowing KB to start the ship and alert the New Republic which brought the turning point in the battle when the New Republic X-Wings engaged and destroyed the pirate ship.
Character and traits
Wendle was a single father having lost Wim's mother at some unspecified point prior to 9 ABY to some unspecified cause. He was hard working and cared deeply for his only child, Wim, but could not make enough time for him due to the demands of his work. Wendle was cautious and could be a strict parent at times but ultimately trusted his son and the rest of the Skeleton Crew during the Battle of At Attin.
Behind the scenes
Wendle appeared in the 2024 live-action series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, portrayed by Tunde Adebimpe.[4]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition,
"A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well.
SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
