Mumuu[1] was a dangerous[2] and deadly predatory beast native to the planet Kalee.[1] Hunting the Mumuu for more than simply meat,[3] Kaleesh generally killed the creatures to demonstrate their bravery.[2] Furthermore, they fashioned its pelt into clothing[3] and its bones, including their skulls, into fearsome masks.[1] They also prized their prey and wouldn't allow anyone near them.[3]
General Grievous carved his a mask that protected his face based on the mumuu skull he wore in his earlier life.[1] In addition, he had mumuu symbols on his cybernetic mask, and his IG-100 MagnaGuards, including IG-101 and IG-102, wore cloaks with matching markings.[4]
Behind the scenes
Mumuu were first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2016 reference book Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[4] They originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were first mentioned in the 2005 reference book Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by James Luceno.[5]
