Maru was an entity that the "golden maru" paint scheme was named for.[1]
During 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess retrieved materials to apply the paint job to her S57 Cardinal speeder bike after winning a Kessel Sabacc game against Sheriff Quint Cresadde in the town of Wayfar on the Outer Rim Territories planet Tatooine.[1]
Behind the scenes
Maru was first mentioned in canon in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws as part of a paint scheme that could be used to customize the appearance the player's speeder bike.[1]
Maru were first mentioned in Star Wars Legends in the 2002 Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Prima's Official Strategy Guide, the Prima Games guide to the Star Wars: The Clone Wars video game,[3] which released that same year and was the creature's first legends appearance.[4]
