"Doom is upon us, sister. Save yourself."
―Luce's dying words to Asajj Ventress[1]

Luce was a Force-sensitive female Dathomirian who was native to the Outer Rim Territories planet Dathomir and a member of the Witches of Dathomir Nightsister coven. In 20 BBY, during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, Luce was one of the various Nightsisters who fought in the Battle of Dathomir between General Grievous's Separatist Droid Army and the Nightsisters. As the battle raged on, Luce was shot and killed by a B1-Series battle droid, becoming one of the many Nightsisters who were slain.

Biography

A Dathomirian[3] female from the[1] Outer Rim Territories[5] planet Dathomir, Luce was a member of the Force-sensitive Witches of Dathomir Nightsister coven during the waning days of the Galactic Republic.[1]

BattleofDathomir-AAT

During the Clone Wars between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Republic, the former Nightsister and Sith assassin Asajj Ventress was betrayed by her Sith Master, Count Dooku.[6] Returning to the Nightsisters, Ventress and her sisters made several attempts on Dooku's life as revenge.[6][7] In 20 BBY,[2] in retaliation, the count sent the Separatist Droid Army under the command of General Grievous to eradicate the Nightsisters. Along with Ventress and[1] her[4] fellow Nightsisters, Luce began a counterattack against the Separatist forces. Ventress ordered Luce and a fellow Nightsister to climb upon the branches of a tree and shoot at the Separatist battle droids below with their Nightsister energy bows. After the Nightsister elder Old Daka unleashed the Nightsister Army of the Dead, Luce jumped from the branches of the tree, fought two BX-series droid commandos, and took their E-5 blaster rifles after being deprived of her energy bow.[1]

GrievousVsVentress-Massacre

After the Separatists fired two defoliators from a Defoliator Deployment Tank, Luce and the other Nightsisters ran to cover. Luce rode upon the top of a stolen Separatist Armored Assault Tank and shot at the droids ahead with a new energy bow. She watched as General Grievous dueled Ventress, and as Ventress was defeated and wounded, Luce retreated to help Ventress from the battlefield. However, a blaster bolt shot from a B1-Series battle droid struck her back. She fell down and begged Ventress to save herself before dying shortly after. Ventress avenged her death by destroying the droid that killed her. However, Grievous stormed the Nightsister fortress and slaughtered all the Nightsisters except Nightsister Mother Talzin and Ventress herself.[1]

Luce had white skin, black hair, green eyes, and wore black clan tattoos.[1]

She was capable with Nightsister energy bow and was able to shoot two guns at a rapid speed.[1]

Luce-ConceptArt

Luce was created for "Massacre," the nineteenth episode of the fourth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars,[1] released on February 24, 2012.[8] Prior to the episode's release, she was first pictured in September 2011 as part of a promotional trailer for the season.[9] She was first identified as Luce in the accompanying StarWars.com Episode Guide for "Massacre."[4] In the episode, she was voiced by Jaime King.[1] During the episode's production, Luce was modeled by Polina Hristova, who reused the model "Nightsister Fem Med B" from the season three episode "Nightsisters," with several changes in the model's eye color, hair style, and face texture.[4]
