Giju Run

For other uses, see Giju.

The Giju Run was a hyperspace route[1] with one terminus at[2] the planet[5] Giju[2] in the Interior[3] and Colonies regions of the galaxy.[1] Running along the border of the Colonies and the Core Worlds,[2] the route then passed through the planet Bardotta in the Shasos sector's Bardotta system, the moon[1] Zardossa Stix, and the celestial body Deymasoll—all in the Colonies—and then terminated at the astronomical object Kitel Phard in the Core Worlds. Giju acted as a junction from the route onto the Rimma Trade Route[2] and the Herglic Alley.[4] It passed through Standard Galactic Grid squares L-13, K-13, J-13, and J-12.[2]

In 34 ABY,[6] the route was included on a partial map of the galaxy displayed on screens on board Chandrila Star Line's Star Cruiser Halcyon while it traveled from the Core Worlds' Chandrila system to the Outer Rim Territories.[7]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Giju Run was first pictured in "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?," an article written by Mark Newbold and published on StarWars.com on January 29, 2016.[8] It was then identified in Nexus of Power, a Star Wars Roleplaying supplement published by Fantasy Flight Games[1] on March 17, 2016.[9]

The route then appeared in-universe for the first time when it was depicted on a map viewable in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive roleplaying experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida[7] that opened to the public on March 1, 2022.[10] The Giju Run originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the Player's Guide to Tapani, a 1997 supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game written by Paul Sudlow and Eric S. Trautmann and published by West End Games.[11]

Same galaxy, same map. In the rare event something needs to be changed, it will be discussed. (In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).

This means that the planet must act as a junction between that hyperspace route and the Giju Run, given that Giju is shown to be part of the Giju Run on the Star Wars Galaxy Map.
