- "But sir, with respect, that's an order."
"It may be your command General Skywalker, but it's my ship." - ―General Skywalker orders Admiral Kilian to evacuate the Endurance
The Endurance was a Venator-class Star Destroyer that served in the Open Circle Fleet's Fifth Fleet of the Galactic Republic's naval forces, where it served as the flagship of Admiral Shoan Kilian during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[1] It later crashed on Vanqor following crippling sabotage perpetrated by the young Boba Fett, who had attempted to kill the on-board Jedi Mace Windu. Windu and Anakin Skywalker were trapped in its wreckage until R2-D2 returned to Coruscant and requested help. Jedi Master Plo Koon, the Wolfpack, and Padawan Ahsoka Tano soon came to their aid and rescued Windu and Skywalker.[6]
Description
The Endurance was a 1,137 meter-long[2] Venator-class Star Destroyer with two bridges and a ventral hangar bay. The Star Destroyer was also equipped with a navigation computer, escape craft, and was armed with DBY-827 heavy turbolaser turrets and medium dual turbolaser cannons.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Endurance was introduced and identified in "Death Trap,"[1] the twentieth episode of the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' second season, which originally aired on April 23, 2010.[7]
