Background information
Maste's mate died at the hands of the Goa'uld. (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
Maste knew their aging host was dying. During this time, the human Bythal was sick. To save Bythal's life, Maste's host gave his life so Maste and Bythal could blend.[1]

In August of 2002, Maste and their host Bythal joined Phoenix-1. (RPG: "Groundbreaking")
